NORSE DWARFS
The World Edge Mountains are largely populated by Dwarfs from the most southern point, right up to the uncharted areas or forgotten areas in the Chaos Wastes. The area to the South of the Chaos Wastes is known as Norsca, and the World Edge Mountains that border this land is also inhabited by Dwarfs.
Sadly for these Dwarfs they are largely cut off from their Brethren. South of Norsca the Dwarfs have lost many strongholds to the Skaven and Goblins. To the north the World Edge mountains are polluted by Chaos. However where the realm of the Norse Dwarfs end and the Chaotic Dwarfs begin, isn’t exactly clear. There’s little difference between the most Northern Norse and most Southern Chaotic Dwarfs.
Mainly though, most Norse Dwarfs do not have anything to do with their Northern cousins and have more akin to the Norse themselves. Norsca is a hardy place, with little to do but drink and play/watch Blood Bowl. Things that both the humans and dwarfs of Norsca enjoy.
Norse also have an extremely mercenary side to their personality. So the Dwarfs and Humans often work together for play, promised plunder or a position on a team.
And so although rare outside of Norsca, Norse Dwarfs do have several Blood Bowl teams, and in fact a good Norse Dwarf team will tend to dominate local Norse leagues. This tends to mean more beer and rotting fish, which always goes down well with Norse.
Although physically the same, there are 2 key differences between regular Dwarfs and Norse Dwarfs. The first being; like their Norse neighbours, Norse Dwarfs have a tendency to wear less armour. This means they move a little faster, but are less well armoured. Also like Norse they drink a lot, a lot even for Dwarfs. Dark wintery nights even affects Dwarfs and they tend to be moody and morose. This leads to more Dwarfs that suffer from Frenzy with Troll Slayers being more common than anywhere outside of the Slayers' Keep.
There are 2 different Norse Dwarf rosters, to represent Norse Dwarfs from the South and from the North:
